Wellness Spices: The `Podi`Link

This morning`s Astro Vaanavil`s Kaalai Malar programme had an expert on Indian Food and Spices

being interviewed and she shared her wealth of  experience in the preparation of South Indian Food

and its greatness and goodness. It so happens that she also teaches how to prepare good food for

human wellness. One point that she made that attracted our attention was the fact that she has her

own recipe for 50 types of PODIs, which I suppose makes her the master of Podi. Now podis, the

most common ones being Sambar and Rasampodis, are usually made out of grounded roasted spices

and dhalls and other ingredients and its purpose is to spice up ANY type of food. For the guest on the

show however Podis have multi purpose use. So we decided to check out about Podis and their
